Hello! I have a young Sultan (around 10-11 weeks) named Eggroll who I’ve been having a lot of trouble sexing.

I thought she was a female, but based on the growth of her comb and the shape of her crest, I’ve been Second-guessing myself... I was also making cockadoodle-doo sounds yesterday to try and get my EE cockeral to crow, when Eggroll stretched out and made one single “durr!” sound... was she trying to crow?

That’s a mighty bright comb! I’m not familiar with Sultans, but based on the comb alone, I would say that you have a cockerel!
Handsome fella! ❤

ohhh gosh! 😂 I hope not! I’d have 10 hens and 4 Roos!! Are you sure? Eggroll is an incredibly sweet and loving chicken.

The neck feathers and saddle feathers should be pointed if a roo. Rounded for a hen right? At least the saddle feathers. I have a couple americuana hens with pointed neck feathers, but their saddle feathers are rounded and they definitely lay eggs.

Keep him and get rid of 3 of your other roosters.....Sad, I know.
Best of luck to you!

umm.. I don’t really think I can do that haha! Two of my Roos are already adults that I’ve had for over a year. I was planning on giving away the EE male, though.
