Alameda County Unincorporated California Chicken Ordinance

This information is NOT CORRECT! Alameda county requires a permit for all chickens, a min of 200 square feet of yard space per chicken, a min of 40' from the coop to any neighboring dwelling, and an inspection by the Alameda County Animal Control to sign off on the permit. There is no exemption for 3 or less chickens nor for unincorporated areas. Contact your local Animal Control office for updated and accurate info and requirements.
