Great article! The methods described are excellent; gentle, patient and non-invasive.
It could be stated even more strongly that all chicks are individuals with their own personality, and some will simply refuse being petted. And that's ok and shouldn't be forced. Regardless, teaching birds that handling is fine from the start is the way to go to get friendly chickens.
