The Egg song, it’s not about the egg; it’s an escort call.

I love it! My rooster which I call Mr.Rooster is a Sebright, he is half the size of the hens but he does such a great job looking after the girls. I will have to keep a closer eye on them to catch this ritual. Thanks for the info!

Thank you! This was a great teaching article. I'm still having a hard time telling if an egg is fertilized or not. I can't tell the difference from your candling and any of mine! And, if you put the egg in water to see if it floats will that cause it to not be hatchable?

Again, Amazing article-loved everyday!

SO, you've been talking to my husband I see, or maybe this technique is in some guy handbook somewhere! This is exactly how my husband turns everything he wants into mine! He bought a dog...she is now "my dog", he wanted a garden..it is now "my garden" it actually is because I do all the work! The chickens are actually mine but the farm thing was 100% him..but of course he did it 95% for me!

I absolutely love this story. An amazing story of the lengths Mommas will go for their family! I agree- I would love to see pics of those two!

This article is spot on! I had no idea what was going on in my coop! The hay was being thrown everywhere, taken out of the nest boxes, the floor was all scratched up...I was starting to wonder if there was fighting going on at night...but today I found my first egg! However, I didn't know the two were related until after reading this article-Thanks!
