Dealing with and Taming Aggressive Roosters

You covered everything I needed to know about Sir Rodger. I have even more respect for him now. He does a great job protecting the ladies and making sure they eat first.. To the point of throwing scraps at them before he eats.
He was a little naughty yesterday on his roost so I went to grab him. I got one leg and he jumped clear of me. Apparently, that was enough of a reminder to let him know I was the Alpha in this flock. I'm sure I'll have to remind him again from time to time. Sir Rodger is here for the long haul. Thank you so much for clarifying things.
Today he's Mr Nice Guy!
Article contains interesting information on modifying these unacceptable demeanors in roosters.

Thank you for this. It's really hard to find good info on how to deal positively with an aggressive rooster. Most advice begins and ends with, "Off with his head!" While that is always an option, it's not always the best one ... for anyone, including (and especially) the roo! I currently have nine roosters, with six in a bachelor coop and run. While most have needed a lesson or two along the way, there is only one that even needs a reminder, these days - and that usually involves simply glaring at him and stomping once in his direction. For now, at least, we have peace!
