A cat ruthlessly murdered our beautiful fluffy yellow Buff Brahma. I was determined to catch it. Instead we caught our own dumb dog. Remington was so involved in licking up bait that he didn't even realize he was trapped for 15 minutes!! These hens can't believe a dog with such a large head could have such a little brain! The girls have proven MUCH smarter.

Two new additions to the family. Another Araucana (June) for a new shot at some pretty blue pastel eggs... And a Buff Orpington (Vera) to replace our beautiful Nancy.

The girls have proven MUCH smarter.

The 3 chickens were Ava's birthday gift in March. By August we had our first egg. I found out after a while that it was from our Araucana--- brown???!!! So dissapounted. Our hopes of a beautiful blue egg were gone. However Dorothy is so comfortable with me that she will lay her egg right into my hand!!!

The chickens loved this hiding spot in the kids playset so I cleared it out and now this is where they lay!! It was perfect bc the sand is always dry and soft. I had to do the golf ball trick and it worked!! Within 5 hours of them finding the golf balls they suddenly realized their purpose!!!
