My girls have some tapeworm segments/eggs (the little white dots that move like zombies) in their poop. I’m in the process of worming them with zimecterin gold horse paste, once and then again in 10days. I’m about a week into my first dose & it’s killing me to toss the eggs. Does anyone ever eat...
I like to have 3 hens, that’s the amount I need in order to feed myself & frankly all I have space for. That being said, i just lost one of my hens to being egg bound and two days later a friend had a red sex link pullet she wanted to gift me. I know it would have been better to get two but my...
I am about to treat my infected hens with zgold for the first time, I was told treat once and then again in 14 days but you are saying withhold feed for 24 hours after both treatments? Also for how long do you not eat their eggs after first and second treatment?
I stand corrected, after watching for a longer period of time they are indeed moving. How many days do you suggest treating with Zimectrin? And is it only once a day? Again, thank you so much for all your help.
This was very helpful thank you! I wormed her with safeguard and her feathers grew back darker (could have happened regardless of the worming) but other than that no issues and no more roundworms!
I recently found some unmoving tapeworm segments in my girls poop. Even when the poop is fresh, the segments don't move. I purchased Zimecterin Gold dewormer for horses because I have read that praziquantel is effective for actually removing tapeworms. My question is how do you effectively...
I plan to treat the rest of my flock for tapeworms but how do you administer the paste? Maybe on a piece of bread & feed it to them? I just want to keep the rest of the girls safe.
She didn’t make it unfortunately. I took a quick peek at her vent and it was bloody and pussy, I’m not sure if it was egg bound or what but I don’t have the stomach to investigate further. Thank you so much for your help!
This was so helpful thank you so much. I had no idea safeguard didn’t treat tapeworms as I had used that for them previously but always noticed them coming back. Do you still eat the eggs when treating with praziquantel?
Right below her vent is so swollen, I have soaked her twice in warm epsom...
I soaked her in warm epsome bath for 20mins and then isolated her and very shortly after she had this poop. Everything seems to point egg bound but now I’m confused since I found worms and full red poop. Any suggestions?
