Hi Michigan Chicken Peeps, Is there anyone out there that has successfully increased the chickens allowed in your local area? We live in Warren and would love to be able to get more than 3 hens so that we don't have to buy eggs. There are neighboring cities that have considerably more allowed.

3 hens allowed in our suburb. We might have 2 extra "class pets" that stay at our house and provide us with more eggs.

Where did you find the water bottle end waterers? We could very much use something like that!

Sorry about your little one :( Still concerned about mine, I'm thinking it may actually have mushy chick disease since its abdomen is blueish and still more swollen than the others.

@Mother of Chicks how did her splayed leg go? I have a little Momiji who is having similar issues. We've got a divider between him and the other chicks but are trying to hope he'll make it!

Update: after vitamins and chick chair, the little guy can now walk with a brace on! He's getting there!

Yes, both. Poor baby! We got 8/9 hatched but the temp and humidity went crazy during part of hatch time and I think that might have done it. The chick chair looks like it could work! We're giving water with electrolytes and nutri-drench. We'll try it!

This is the first I've heard of beak raking but I have hens that look just like that fluffy first picture. We've tried pick no more and it didn't do anything.

I've just been looking into sprouting grains/making fodder. I haven't tried it yet but am thinking once I have my greenhouse setup this next year it is on my list.
