Yesterday, our baby chick got attacked by a mean hen. She broken her KNEE and a toe! We splinted it as best as we could, but she still trips around in the box. She will never heal like that. Her broken leg can twist almost 360 degrees, not the other one tho. She won’t eat.

Little Beth, the amputee chick, is doing amazing! She is the best flier and is light on her funny little feet. She is growing to be a big young hen. Her foot doesn’t need to be dressed anymore. I’m so glad it didn’t get infected. I would never have forgiven myself if little Beth had died.My name is Lily too!! Lol

a hawk just flew up and ran into the side of our chicken run, which houses our 16 baby chicks!!! Do scarecrows work for hawks???? I’ve never seen a hawk try to attack any of my birds, and I won’t let any of them die if it’s the last thing I do.
