The only issue I’ve run into with ideal is that I ordered red sex links, and they sent a mix of production reds and Rhode Island reds. All pullets though. But they definitely will fill at their discretion if they don’t have the stock.

6 month ish update. The former B has some obvious issues, so have removed it. New A and B. B still seems to be slow growing in hackles. A has a lot of a cream or beigy type color to his feathers, and not silver. Is that something that should be avoided if breeding for quality, or moved away from?

Hello all, I'm new to learning genetics and breeding to the SoP. I have 3 cockerels that I am looking for advice on. Roughly 17 weeks. How do they look? Flaws? Are these good to breed with? Which one would be considered the most ideal? Thanks for any advice.

The question is mainly wanting clarification for this: Vaccinate pullets between the ages of 4 weeks and 8 weeks before the start of egg production. Vaccine must be administered at least four weeks prior to the onset of egg production. Seems to be contradictory

My flock doesn’t have fowl pox. I know what it is, and all the details etc. My question is about the vaccine and ages, the conflicting reports in the pamphlet of not vaccinating laying hens vs what age to actually vaccinate. Anyone?
