The wounds are through the skin but not to bone, this happened around 3 this afternoon and they were free ranging around the yard. The fox killed and took one bird but only injured this one other. My neighbor separated her and we will start with the antibiotic ointment and clean it tomorrow...
I have a silver laced Wyandotte that got attacked by a fox today and is injured on its neck and wings. I’m on vacation so my neighbor informed me about this, what should I tell her to do with the chicken until I get back tomorrow?
Yesterday I noticed my 18 week old black star was just sitting on the floor, I put out some treats to see if she would get up but she just used her wings to move over to them and never stood up, I isolated her and thought she was just hot but it persisted today. She laid her first egg 4 days...
She eats a mix of all flock and layer pellet feed her legs are useless if I put my finger under her foot she will loosely grip it but overall she can’t use them at all
Edit:————- she was not vaccinated for merek’s if that helps. She also is eating and drinking normally no egg binding or swollen abdomen, everything seems normal, but she just can’t standup
