This is the hen that is sick. I was told she was a Silverlace.

Thank you for the link. Today gathering eggs I noticed one of the two Easter eggers layed an egg that looks odd. So I hope it’s not going around the flock. I still have the compine separate.

What causes that? Is it contagious? How long do they live after catching the infection?

Oh her poop has been more on the normal looking side but I don’t believe she has been pooping as much as she should be. She does still have a mess on her bottom end.

Ok I don’t think it’s vent gleet either. Today I found this in her pen it looked soft and fluffy but it’s kinda hard and sticky. I poked a stick in it and clear pink liquid came out. She is eating and drinking. She has not been laying since she’s been sick.

She is a Compine I think is what I found. I purchased her at tractor supply as a Silver Lace but she is not a Silver. She’s smaller, and lays white eggs. Good layer though. Her appetite has improved tremendously. Tonight I put her back out in the coop. I’ll keep an eye on her. Thank you

Thank you for the reply. Still separated from flock and she’s eating some on her own. I think it’s vent gleet. So cleaning her bottom, giving apple cider vinegar in water. We’ll see. Thanks again

When I cleaned it up it’s almost like a raw egg. Could she be egg bound? Or is it pus?thought I would add that she has never had a problem laying eggs. I did give her some calcium. The yellow is NOT like yolk it’s more creamy. Tonight it has bubbles or a foam in it.

Yes, I've been giving the citrate with D, I crush it and put it in her feed. The egg comes out whole and breaks usually when hits ground. She does feel better after. I've started back feeding the organic layer green bag from TS. They like it better. Plus they eat...

I can not make up my mind which feature I like the best, they all are amazing and unique. A 25 yr warranty is unheard of so it must be excellent quality, who wouldn't love a coop that is easy to clean and resistant to red mites, they're all great feature's. A coop that is built for the BYC...

Ok. Thanks. I know animals are like people,each one is different, but say you have one hen that her eggs have bumps all over from too much calcium, one that lays soft shells, and some that seem normal, how do you level it out so their not consuming too much or too little?
