No my coop set up is real simple so you can't miss a egg and the girls all lay in the same box. We also collect twice a day so we don't forget one and run the chance if it going going bad and turning into a bomb lol. (I've heard WAAAAAY to many horror stories about exploding bad eggs lmao)
No jokers 😂 but a stray chicken could have access to my coop. But I was mainly joking about that lol I do have a camera by the coop so if that were the case we'd see the strays coming and going lol
I have a small flock of 6 hens (I had a roo but he sadly passed protecting his girls. He was a old boy that took his job very seriously) we collect eggs twice a day. Once around 930 am and then again at 8-9 pm when I do lock up. When my roo was here we would get 4-6 eggs a day (2 of my girls...
Just a update** so Steve and Gloria were giving me a hard time going in bc I guess the pond makes for a more romantic spot to do the deed😂. She laid a egg in the coop today. Steves real protective of her and the egg but they went in tonight, I didn't have to chase them, they were the first ones...
Yeah I'm not sure. The coop set up is the exact same as its always been they've been with the same birds. Nothings changed except my hens started laying again so there's eggs in the nest boxes every day but I dont think thatd cause them to not wanna go in at night. Theyre usually the first ones...
Yeah its offered but I've never seen them do it lol I had a gosling who would dust bath with the chickens but im pretty sure she thought she was a chicken and not a goose lol
No they free range. They only get locked up at night since we live in the woods. The last 3 nights they kinda just hang around the pond and in the wood line. They have never done this. And it did just recently warm up and their pond is finally ice free so maybe its just that they do like being...
Anyone have any idea why my geese won't go into the coop at night? I have a pair and they've gone into the coop every night since I got them when they were about 2 months old. They just started giving me a hard time with going in at night. This is the 3rd night, the female will go in after a...
Id definitely be interested in trading once your girls get to laying age. I do have more breeds but since they are with a backyard mixed roo, they won't be purebred but they are great egg layers.
Im looking for someone to trade hatching eggs with. Comment what you have and what you're looking for and maybe someone will have it and will be willing to trade.
I have serama, emden and toulouse geese, silkies, barnyard mix, and ayam cemani.
