    Premo Guard Poultry Spray

I really like the Premo Poultry Spray. It’s the only thing that’s worked for my girls. We had a mite infestation two years ago and I tried EVERYTHING. DE, Vaseline, vegetable oil, permethrin sprays, permethrin dust, even made a permethrin dip and dunked my birds in them. None of it worked for...

Silkie with peeling skin? Rash or mites?

One of my silkies, Blue, who is around 1.5 years old now also had this around 4 months old. I never did figure out what it was. I ended up giving her a bath with some baby shampoo and used a qtip to carefully remove as much of the softened dead skin as possible. Some of it came back after the...

Raising chickens...in the city...on the roof???

I'm less concerned with aerial predators (I'll be in the heart of a dense city), than the chickens themselves falling off, but both are definitely a concern. But sounds like free ranging on a rooftop is a no go 😅 Maybe I'll just turn the whole roof into a huge run hahaha

Raising chickens...in the city...on the roof???

Thanks everyone so far for your input! Duly noted on all of the pointers mentioned. Thoughts on....free ranging on a rooftop? I'd hate for them to be locked up in a run all the time, but the possibility of falling off a rooftop is a real fear 😨

Raising chickens...in the city...on the roof???

Hi BYC! I’ve been a lurker here for far too long and thought I’d finally make an account and join in on the chicken chatter 👋 Wondering if anyone has experience raising chickens without a backyard that they can share? TLDR: my mom has a small flock of 4 silkies that, for a lack of a better...

Bantam Frizzle Cochin needs a new home (Southern California)

We are looking for a new home for our bantam frizzle cochin, Landlady. We named her that because she looks like a mean ol’ lady, asking you for rent money 😂 Some background and fully transparency: We’re unsure how old she is, but she was laying when we got her, and has been with us for around 1...
