    Dark Stool concern?

Not so sure what I suspect. Otherwise healthy chicks and some dark stools. Just don't want to miss something dangerous and do nothing... Short of a test for coccidiosis How would we really know? Also, is it safe to treat 7 week chicks with Corid or whatever suggested treatment not knowing if...

    Dark Stool concern?

We just moved our 7 week old chicks outdoors into a covered run with small coop. Everything was fine indoors in the brooder in the cottage. Healthy and happy chicks with normal earthy looking stools. Now that they are outside we have dark almost black stools. Im wondering if the soil could be...

Supposed to be three Welsummer pullets, Maybe, maybe not?

Thanks for all of the replies! Chicks all came from our local Tractor Supply. They were all in the same tub. We opted for these three as they were a bit older as we wanted to introduce them to a lone youngish hen we have. We’re going to need to wait and see what she like when she ages a bit...

Supposed to be three Welsummer pullets, Maybe, maybe not?

A couple more images of the unknown variety. Just brought them out from the brooder inside the cottage again. Placed them into their temporary coop. They are on their way out in the images. They may stay outside for good now. They look to be fully feathered and low temps are not above 40 degrees F.

Supposed to be three Welsummer pullets, Maybe, maybe not?

Supposed to be three Welsummer pullets, Maybe, maybe not?

We purchased three Welsummer pullets. They are 5-6 weeks old now. From the very beginning one had the markings suggesting maybe a rooster. Still looks different, but not developing a comb. Maybe not a rooster, maybe not a Welsummer? What do you think? I tried posting a video, but couldn't. So I...

Safe to turn them out? South Thurston County, Washington State

We have three 5-6 week old Welsummer Chicks. They have been indoors transitioning the heat downward until finally off. Weather has been cooler than usual here, but seems as though we're warming now to low temperatures that will be in the 40's. We had the chicks out today in our separate covered...
