Short notice, but I just found out. I’m sure they would let folks move some birds. I’ll be going to check it out and taking birds the following month probably.
Happy to share you some cuckoo eggs if you are not far from me..... :lau
😂 you know, I always find the most likeminded people for a project are usually the furthest away. How far from Texas are you?
Looking for one hen or close to laying age pullet..older is fine. I’ve got blacks, mottled, a single ermine, and a lavender currently and would like to add a solid white hen to the group and to go under my Split Black roo. Thank you folks.
Don’t mind buying outright or could trade if you’re...
I’ll have to do some digging on getting a hatch of them later on down the road. The California Grey's (Leghorn X Barred Rock old stock) I just got to start with might end up pushing me to get some. Lol. The boys have good taste, Barred Birds just do it better. 👍
@The Moonshiner Would you happen to have any information on the Cuckoos compared to other varieties you’d be willing to share? I’m a fan of a barred bird like no other and my wife is a leghorn lover, hadn’t thought much of them until I saw yours.
Hello all! Some of you may recall I have had Barred Rocks and the Ameruacanas…wellll. The barred bug bit again. I’m tossing California Greys in the mix as well. Lol. Still planning on a small pen of pure birds but…
Egg color isn’t a factor for me and I don’t often sell my eggs to hatch so the...
Facebook groups galore for it..I just hate Facebook. Lol. First weekend of the month is Athens trade days and they usually have a fair bit. Been contemplating starting a local one our way (Crockett), if we can make the time or find the space.
Valid point. I figure the mottled birds will breed true, and the couple odd balls will show different. Luckily I don’t mind an experiment. Especially a free one. Lol.
I impulse purchased a few new birds lately. 1:4 Mottled Ameruacana birds and a pair of Isabel Am. hens. Would I correctly assume that the dilute gene would be carried only in the F1 and express itself when a carrier F1 cockerel is bred to a carrier pullet, I can see expect to find lavender...
I’ve got a field bred cocker and a German shorthair that are both well broken gundogs. That being said, most people can’t go wrong with a lab, they’re just over grown cockers. 😂
