  • I recently purchased a paint frizzle rooster.His name is Sherman Shuffles.He has taken up with my solid white silkie bantam Lily. She is now sitting on eggs.Ms.Broody.I am.curious is it likely all babies will be solid white or is there a chance of paint also?
    Took a break.Last year I decided to incubate eggs two were Barrred rocks & the rest silkies.I posted my journey & my hatchlings.I had 7 babies survive.I keep loosing every one that was incubated.They are going on 1 now.I have noticed 2 of my silkies Dont have WATTLES.had another one pass Sat.She has no wattles.I've never seen this.i am now down to 2 silkies from my hatch.Oomie & Lilly.

    Thank you .I know it's part of life but I'm loosing more than I'm gaining.She was 5 months old .wondering if she was egg bound she did attempt to walk yesterday to me but like a penguin. I massaged her abdomen ,lubricated her vent good,and gave meds.im dumb founded

    That's so sad! Did you try giving her tums? I've never had a hen with it so bad!

    I only knew to keep massaging her abdomen downward.i did that to her legs and feet as well 3 to 4 times a day.i didn't feel a egg..I Noticed 3 days ago her wattles started to shrink and her comb as well.i had to move her all during the day and night .I wanted to autopsy but my husband didn't think I could handle it.
    Another hen down My chocolate orp/barred rock mix .Hazel had droopy feathers and could hardly walk.i brought her in medicated she was still was eating and drinking good getting meds,keeping her warm.This morning she was paralyzed. I could barely wake her.She couldn't move at all and her feet were curled up ice cold.Im so confused! She was in with my silks.Now I pray they don't get sickly.
    Now our 2nd guardian our dogo is dealing with dementia. This has been a really rough summer for us .I am down to one more guardian. She is 7.Its not going to be easy without my girls.

    Had to put down another cockerel this am.
    He developed Coryza. Treatment did not help.Today paralysis began setting in.RIP KC.Now praying my 5 babies he resided with don't develop it.Its been a week and they have shown no signs as of now.🙏
