This heated waterer holds three gallons of water, which lasts my 35 chickens almost exactly one day. It's hard to fill from the bottom, even though they claim that it has an easy fill funnel. Whenever I use it, water spills over the funnel, somehow gets past the waterproof seal where the cord enters the base, and flips the breaker in my barn. Although it is inconvenient, I just take off the entire base when I fill it, because I already got shocked once. The seal for the cap on the "easy fill funnel" leaks a bit, too.
For heating, it does exactly what they say. It keeps my water thawed until it gets to around -40, which is what they claim.
