Pros: Water/Feed levels are easily seen. One gallon of water weighs a lot less than three! Simple to keep clean.
Cons: Sometimes feed builds up in the openings, when used as feeder. Calcium build up from hard water, encourages algae growth during the Summer months.
I really like this water fountain. In addition to the giant water founts, it is a convenient water source for the chickens while they are out foraging. I have one under the trees, in the front and back yards. I also use one up at coop, in the recreation pen. The chickens always have water near by. It's also very handy to have an extra one for when you need to add some medicine to their water, or other special recipes for them to drink.

As for durability, they are made of BPA free plastic, and last for several years. The oldest container I have, is five years old. It is the clear container that will eventually crack from exposure to the elements. But, I discovered it can be easily repaired with some "Flex Seal". The green screw on base can also have a new life, as it fits other containers!

It will last longer, if you keep it clean. This is good for the health of the chickens too. I use 2 parts Baking Soda to 1 part Citric Acid, sprinkle in the container and lid. Then, just add water...it will foam up and break down the calcium, just give a little scrub with a brush, and rinse.

Flip over a sturdy flower pot, and set the water fountain on top. The chickens love this product, I do too!:thumbsup

Pros: Easy to use, easy to see levels, simple to clean, chickens love them, whole seed flows well from them, chickens don't flick food from them as much
Cons: NOT dishwasher proof. I have melted three of the clear tops :(
OMG! I LOVE LOVE LOVE these feeder/waterers! I have recommended them to all my buyers and to all that come to me for consultation. They work so well. I literally own at least 14 of these. And I make sure all new chicken owners have two.

I like it it looks cool
Pros: Holds a lot of water/food, not too hard to clean
Cons: Isn't the most durable feeder/waterer
Got for a good price at Walmart, worked very well, but got somewhat dirty easily. Right now the parts are stuck together, so I'm not using it, but is a good quality item overall.
Pros: Cute, Easy to use, Good size for small coop
Cons: Size if you have lots of chickens
I really love this cute little feeder/Water Fountain - We have two one for each...food and water.

I love this thing. :) I use mine as a waterer, and it works great!! It's nice and sturdy, and the girls love it too. :D That's always a plus. It is a bit hard to un-freeze in the winter, but what waterer isn't? Love the chickens on the jug, and holds a lot of water. I highly recommend it. :)
Pros: BPA-free, easy to clean, easy to vies supply
Cons: none
Bought 2 of these....work great in all seasons but winter. I like that they are made by handicap ppl....so says they tag. No BPA in the plastic. Very easy to clean. Very easy to view the food or water levels.

Pros: Cute, functionial, multi-purpose
Cons: Cost, cannot be hung
Okay, i will admit the first thing that drew me to this product was the "cute" factor lol Mind you as time has passed i have been impressed with the performance, even more so as winter has begun, while i wouldn't recommend this on occasion we have forgotten to haul it in overnight and it's ended up being out in below freezing temps...

Yet despite this, it has not cracked, broke or lost functionality. Quite a feat IMO for a waterer. Obviously, our main use has been with it as a waterer, it is unique in that it can be used as a feeder but i find feeders placed on the ground to be difficult with chickens as they tend scratch feed out of them.

That said, it does work fine as a feeder, we used feed in a crumble form . It's been used here for quite awhile and no fading to the graphics has occurred and neither has the green bottom faded either, which i was pleasantly surprised to find as this is an outdoor feeder/waterer for us.

So, in the end i would rate this as a nice little feeder/waterer combo, it's cute and most importantly functions just as it's intended.
