GFQ Heated Box Poultry Brooder

Universal Heated Box Brooder Box brooders are designed to eliminate stress in young birds by...
Pros: Durable. long lasting. easy to clean. heat system is solid. price is decent. Works well
Cons: finding fair shipping can be difficult. Getting the birds out can be a small challenge. Temperature control is a bit of guess work.
Price is fair and the system is well built. Easy to assemble and operates fantastic. Would recommend shopping around as the manufacturer charges the most for shipping.

Manufacturer states 100 birds at a time for 4 weeks. I think this is a stretch at 2 weeks 90 birds were pretty cramped and 1 was trampled to death.

Temperature control is simply up or down. no real way to gauge it except by experience and feel. Lots of changing temp and adjusting based on temp readout.

Easy to check on birds, as view through 3 sides and top comes off in 2 section. Clear sides have holes that adjust so that the quail can feed young and be widened as needed.

light to attract chicks and one shows when heater is in operation. Biggest downside ive seen is when you stack the system and place birds in grow off pen. You would have to detach the brooder in order to completely clean it. Plexi glass sides need to be popped out by flexing them and down the road if they get stiff this could cause them to break. Really only removing them to clean the tracks.

Cage is wide enough that accessing older birds can be difficult as they can move out of reach. Removing the top allows the chance for them to attempt to fly.

it is nice that you can attach 3 troughs as we ended up needing 2 for water 1 for food.

All in all I think its a great purchase and would buy again. The few things that are negative i feel are worth the quality as well as what you are getting for your money.
