I am still trying to figure out breed and sex of my little friend. I got it July 4th and it was probably 2-3 weeks old at the time. Here's a picture to help. Thank you!
I just wanted to show you the one I've been looking at. It is X-Large, 41"x38"x39. I thought about the crates used for airlines but there are a lot of ventilation holes and with the amount of rain we get here in FL, it would always be wet. Any way, thanks again!
I have a goose (I named Ryan Gosling) that was rescued on July 4th, was terrified of the fireworks. We couldn't find it's home and since I've been raising chickens for years I decided to keep it. I see all your lovely houses but unfortunately I am neither crafty enough or physically capable of...
I'm hoping it's not too late on this thread for an answer. I have a goose that was rescued on July 4th. Was terrified of the fireworks. We couldn't find it's home and since I've been raising chickens for years I decided to keep it. I see all your lovely house but unfortunately I am neither...
Thanks! I have very little carpentry skills but found this diy build http://www.thegardencoop.com/blog/2011/03/10/external-nest-box-plans/. It was very helpful and pretty much followed step by step. I just took all the boards off the side of the doghouse. As for hinging the roof, I did that on...
I too live in Zephyrhills and am raising my own flock. I find the feral chicks a nuisance for this reason, afraid of disease to my chicks. They have been hanging around the empty yard next door and delivering new babies often. I have literally found a whole clutch of babies in the one with my...
Thank you Loan Oak. As for dripping, I had that problem too. Tried plumbers tape, not much better. Just got some aquarium safe silicone yesterday and am now going to try that.
Ice was wondering bow you made out with your roof. Having the Sam issue here. Only half way up and was planning a hinge but afraid of weather proofing. Thought the idea of inner tube or pan liner sounded like a great idea! What did you end up doing??
No I cannot fit a wheelbarrel into the fenced area but it is easily raked. I plan on only getting another 3 chicks, so 6 total. I live in FL so no snow. The shed fell through so on to the next idea!
Thank you ladies but still can't decide whether to have big doors facing inside the run area or not. I haven't seen any sign of predators per say, we have quite a few wild hicks around and they seem to do fine. I am using an old dog pen as a run. Got a metal frame for a carport or boat cover...
I can't decide whether to do as you did with just a small hole on the side for them to get in and out or to have the doors facing in the chain link. How do you close it when they go in at night?
