I visited a local lady, very nice. I picked up three East Indies ducklings. When I got them home and settled in one laid on its side paddled around in a circle. I thought that maybe it just fell and up righted it, it continued to run, and then fell back in the same spot. The duckling seemed to...
I was just reading the "Do you eat duck" thread. I admited that I am not a duck as a food fan. Not because of sentimental reasons, but because we never really ate duck when I was growing up. Except that pressed duck off the Chinese menu and I don't know if that really counts. Anyway. . . I went...
Right now I do not have enough ducks to feed them duck feed. It would go back before the two ducks I have could get through 50 lbs. So they get the same feed as the chickens. Should I be adding anything to the ducks feed in addition to the layer feed?
How do geese differer from duck in temperment?
Behavior?
Do geese range more than ducks?
When are geese most vocal?
I am thinking of getting some geese. I was told that they are not just big ducks so i am just trying to learn how they are different. I have neighbors, they are very tolerant.
I am thinking about showing English angora rabbits. Am I insane or what?
Well I bought two rabbits last year. A buck and a doe. Both, I was told are show quality. Well, I waited to show and then was told that it was too late to show them because they had been trimmed and when they regrew I was...
What does this even mean?
I am thinking of getting some Pomeranian geese and on a list of what to look for, including pink feet and bill, was single-lobed paunch. I have NO idea what this means.
Does anyone have any pictures or desciption?
Also if any one has information about Pomeranian...
Okay, that title sucked, but here is my situation. Someone gave me three chickens, they are a few months old. I noticed that one had a really poopy butt, but I took him anyway and just planned to keep them away from the rest of my flock for awhile. Well I washed of the poopy butt bird then...

I have a broody that is just about done hatching out the chicks under her. I have taken the chicks away and am raising them in a brooder. It is okay to put new eggs under her? Or should I give her a break and let her go back to just being a chicken?
I had a hen who went broody. She only had one chick hatch last week, so I contacted a local breeder and he had some silky and a GLW banty that just hatched. I took them to keep the little girl (I am being optimistic) company. I was never planning on getting anything like a silkie, but now I have...
I have two Nigerian Dwarf Goat bucklings for sale. They were born on Jan 29 and will be wethered in the next few week. They are horned but incredibly sweet. Both boys have been handled daily since birth and will make wonderful pet. Dam is an easy milker and sire was from good milking lines...
Beautiful black percheron draft cross mare. Abby is percheron x paint, but she looks all percheron. She stands over 16 hh but I have not sticked her lately. She is 7 years old and was used as a therapy horse at one time, but she is not for a beginner. Abby is a big girl and needs an experience...
OOps I posted in the wrong place. Sorry about that.
I am selling my mare and I deleted the post here and will put it in the right post so this post is just to share a pic of my dirty girl.
I found this picture on Etsy. It is of a woman butchering a chicken. For those that love old photos it is really a nice picture

Where is another good place to get meat chickens?
I had a broody duck. She went broody on the 24th of May. Everything was going well as far as I could tell until last night. I came come late and shut the ducks up. I could not tell that the broody was not there. This was after dark and and she is a black duck. This morning when I let everyone...
Is there some reason for this. They housed seperately, but they both free range during the day. My chickens rush to the duck's pen every morning now to get duck food. It is really rather a pain in the tail feathers to let the duck out and keep the chickens at bay. I am considering going to a...
