I am incubating in my classroom. Day 18 falls on a Sunday morning.
Is it better to lockdown on Friday day 16 or Monday day 19?
Or is it super important that I lockdown on day 18 the Sunday?
thank you. It's the only one left and is laying resting in the incubator. The lights are off in the room it's in so I do think it will move around munch.
this hatch has been awful. So far everyone's has made it. This is the last duck. Was the last one with no pip. Could hear cheep and a bit of rocking for about 30 hours. I got nervous and made a safety hole.
Many of the others were stuck in the shell with a snot like substance. I helped when the...
first time with duck eggs. They piped early before lockdown. This one had been pipped at least 30 that I know of. I was getting nervous that its was stuck. Should I help more or let it be?
It's day 25 lockdown day. For my Pekin rouen cross eggs. Without really looking at the eggs I put them in a carton while I prepare the incubator for lockdown(taking out the turner putting a liner in and sponges) I then when to candle the eggs. The first one I candles had an international pip...

This is the same egg. Seems to be developing great on one side and basically clear on the other. Is this cause for concern?
It's my first time incubating duck eggs they are Pekin rouen mix. I'm also pretty disappointed I only got 50% fertility:(
So far 31 out of 36 have hatched
4 have external pips
And 1 still hasn't shown signs of life.
I'm shocked at such a good outcome even with all my issues.
Power outage for 3 hours day 3
Random temp spike last night
And basically no incubator just light bulb since 10 Am this morning.
Now that that disaster has a bandaid fix.
I have noticed a have a chick that seems to favor looking at the sky...
Do I need to do something for it? (I don't have any chick vitamins) I'm a newbie... And all stores are closed today due to easter...
stole the light bulb from the cooler bator. Temp is climbing. I hope the time spent a little cold and fluctuate humidity didn't have detrimental effects
