Ducks are like that! They will grow on you even more as they get older and you can see their personalities! Enjoy! I have 6 grown ducks myself, 2 Pekin, 2 K. Campbell, and 2 magpie. Love them all!

Sad...I can't imagine doing that to one of mine. They are soooo spoiled! I quite often tell them how good they have it. They just fuss until I go get their peas!

I have had quite a few "soft" eggs. A lot of the time I find them in their kiddie pool. From what I have read, it's normal. Just a new girl getting everything working. Enjoy your ducks, but beware of "duck math". That's where you decide you just HAVE to have 1 more...and one more....and before...

We had one last winter get in with my ducks. We tried to get her and her juvenile to leave, the young one got out but the momma stayed. It took us NINE shots to kill her. One was directly to the brain and that stupid opossum was STILL alive!!! Be careful, they have a healthy set of teeth!

I use leaves in my duck's enclosure. They love to play in them and it saves on hay. I put the leaves down on the floor and then put a light layer of hay. If I don't use leaves I have to use a lot more hay.

I wondered about a Jumbo Pekin. Her walking looks like one of my Pekins that is horribly pigeon toed. She waddles all over the place, it is hard to watch her you get sea sick! LOL
