We have a nice day on tap, today, weather-wise. And, although yesterday's vet appointment was confirmation of sad news - the medicine we started seems to be helping. My boy looks good this morning! :)
Today I will:
▪︎Spend lots of time with Elliott in the yard
▪︎ Work on the tasks I didn't get...
▪︎ I forgot to empty and replant my greenstalk, yesterday. I'll get to it, today. My hands are sore from shoveling, yesterday. I did get the coop addition filled with sand for the chicks, though. :) And tons of other stuff.
▪︎ My senior dog, Elliott (see profile pic) has a vet appointment...
My plans are much like Sally's.
If it rains, I will:
Do some laundry
Clear out and re-seed my salad Greenstalk
Up-pot some herbs from the AeroGarden
If it doesn't rain, I will:
All of the above, plus ~
Start moving the yard of sand that will be delivered today
Plant a flat of flowers
Tonight is the chicks 1st night out of the brooder and into the small coop.
Elsa started out on the far left - and knocked each of her sisters off the roost, one by one, until she was on the far right. She absolutely HAD to be by the wall. Then everything settled down and they went to sleep...
Ok, Now I'm pretty sure I do have my girls mixed up. The one I thought was an olive egger looks just like your Sapphire Sky. Thank you for sharing! Now... I'm wondering what my chick is with the arrow. She looks like my Mystic Marans - except in the eyes.
The world may never know...
(you're...
The arrow points to the chick that I was told is the Sapphire Sky. I have my doubts about that being her breed.
Purple dot: Mystic Maran ?
Aqua dot: Mystic Maran ?
Pink dot: Olive Egger ?
Not a great shot, sorry. It's raining, and I hurried.
My girls' favorites are a large tree root that DH pulled out at camp and brought home for them. He put it in their run upside-down, so it's like a little tree. They climb on it or under it. They also like an old truck tire I have half-way buried, vertically. Run through - jump on.
This chick is now 7 weeks and 3 days old. It is a little bit "beefier" than the others. I'm told it is a Mystic Maran. Do you see any hints that it might be a cockerel?
We have those things in, too. The greens are in my greenstalk, and I've been having yummy salads. My bare-root strawberry crowns arrive, today. They'll also go in a greenstalk
They were out during the day. Very happy girls. Back to the brooder for the night. Yes, quite yucky out, today. April showers and all that. 2 weeks until planting time! 😀
