Just an update. So, as you can see Jr is doing good after what he went through yesterday. The only downside is that he's blind in his right eye. I know it's nature, but his daddy who done this will be making some good broth and the meat will make my lab a good dinner. After it's cooked of course.

The wild rooster has killed them. Trying to get a neighbor or my brother to take him out

He actually roosts in our tree out front of the house. We tried to get him, late at night, but the it's hard because he goes almost to the top of the tree. And the hens roosts under him.

I hope that's all that's wrong. Going to keep her inside for a few days anyway and keep it clean. Soaking her foot and leg in Epsom salt to help with the soreness if any. Going to keep it wrapped with antibiotic also. Would rather be safe then sorry

We used a pair of dog clippers. It was very hanging on. We have her inside so she wasn't running around in all the mud and poo. So thank you so much for the advice and for responding. It is so greatly appreciated.

We finished taking it off yesterday. As far as giving her anything we haven't. I did put an antibiotic on it it yesterday afterwards. I just noticed it the day before yesterday. We haven't soaked it in Epsom salts but I did put her in the bath tub.

I'm new to raising ducks and there isn't a vet around who cares for them. I've already lost one duck back in April and I don't want to lose another. So I have a duck ,Cuddles... she/he had a jewclaw that was tore lose. So we finished cutting it off, hopefully it was the right thing to do. But...

I'm doing some research here myself. It's looking like I may have to remove the claw. But not until I know for sure. Less pain the better. Good luck with your ducks when you get them. They are alot of fun and have such wonderful personalities.
