    Chicks killed in brooder

Think it’s a huge stray cat. He tried to eat my Serama bantams today. Luckily I was outside! He then went for another pen of Showgirls. Again was able to send him packing.

    Chicks killed in brooder

Yes whatever it was it removed the lid completely. My niece thinks maybe a house cat. I’m thinking rats. The shed has doors front and back that we usually lock. They aren’t anything special just wood. I didn’t see any damage or anything like tracks. No other sign of the attack.

    The aseel thread!!!

Came home after working late to find two 5 week old babies with bloodied faces. Question: How do you separate your chicks when they begin sparring?

    Chick treat idea

You can make your own suet too. Bet we can add in meal worms, nuts, fruit, whatever they might like. I’m in Alabama. Thinking of freezing yogurt cakes and watermelon chunks in the summer. A way to cool them down.

Found a great way to give extra protein. I feed them suet cakes they sell for bird feeders. All my babies love it!

    Chick treat idea

Found an epic treat dispenser! My chicks go crazy when I fill it! A suet cage found in any big box store that sells bird feeders and seeds. I have put grass and suet cakes in mine so far. Suet cakes are like $1.20 each at RK.
