A suet cage found in any big box store that sells bird feeders and seeds. I have put grass and suet cakes in mine so far. Suet cakes are like $1.20 each at RK.View attachment 3484896
It also saves the food from being scratched into the ground (which is what my chickens do to food). I might try this, but with vegetable scraps in the cage.I have Aseel chicks that need extra protein. It gives them something healthy and fun to enjoy.
I'm in Australia so I will definitely try frozen watermelon in summer - it gets pretty hotYou can make your own suet too. Bet we can add in meal worms, nuts, fruit, whatever they might like. I’m in Alabama. Thinking of freezing yogurt cakes and watermelon chunks in the summer. A way to cool them down.
