Me too! It is a lesson I have never forgotten. Absolutely! Just let kitty decide when/if kitty wants to get to know the puppy. Hands off and squirt bottle handy! Kitty claws and puppy eyes are a bad combo. The squirt bottle will work on a nosey puppy too. ;)

    Finn's thread!! Puppy is GROWING!!!

^^^^This! Definitely this.^^^^ I had to have stitches when I was a kid from a cat that didn't want to meet a dog. No I wasn't trying to make them meet. Quite the opposite. A lady came to the door and when my mom answered it her small dog ran in. My mom screamed "Get the cat!". I was closest. I...

Just the golden mix as far as goldens go here. Others already mentioned it but using the regular kibble as treats can work. I use tiny bits of boiled chicken breast.

    Finn's thread!! Puppy is GROWING!!!

We have had a dozen dogs (1 was small the rest were over 70#). For real we have used tennis balls with all of them for fetch, catch and general play. No one has come close to choking on one. I can see where GIANT breeds like mastiffs may be able to get one lodged but I have yet to see a...

    Finn's thread!! Puppy is GROWING!!!

The twisted rope toys are ok if watched closely for stray threads. The biggest issue is when threads are swallowed and catch in the intestinal tract. It's like a blockage but with more damage. I quit using them here altogether. Those threads can get swallowed way to quickly for my comfort level.

    Finn's thread!! Puppy is GROWING!!!

Congrars! Finn is adorable! We have found the kong squeeze balls durable both indoors and out. Chewy has the best price on them by FAR. We call nylabones the no no bones here. Most dogs can get big chunks off them. The twisted knotted ropes get long threads hanging off....and those can be a...
