    It is still 100F in the shade at 6pm. Said it got up to 109 F. Some are but most of them I came in March and April so, they're several months old.

    It was 107 F yesterday, supposed to be 111 F today. Unfortunately, I lost one of my birds yesterday to the heat. She was my oldest bird, a little over 6 years old. Surprisingly my newer birds are going all right in this heat.

    I know.. I'm a unicorn sighting. I have an acre for them feathered babies to roam on. Though they don't like bring in their designated coops.

    Howdy :frow Since last time I was here I received 18 Silkies and 4 Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben and 10 Brahmas. Think I am done with chicks for the year. Last chicken count (adults and chicks) was 143. Bye again.

    well, had my Silkies for a week now. Slowly tempering my oldest chicks outside. Lost another adult bird to a hawk.

    So.. one of the birds that I thought got taken by a hawk came back! It was my little bird named Miracle! Saw her coming running towards our house 1/2 acre away! She was gone for 2 days! So.. to celebrate my joy....... 15 more chicks! 🤣

    Two chicks just didn't thrive even though I tried a few things to perk them up. Also I think a hawk got to my adult bird. To compensate for my grief I'll incubate all my serama eggs.
