Wow so all of yours are still going? Bet you can't wait for lockdown when you can remove the turner and spread them out some. What day are you on again?
I err on the cautious side and wait. Especially if I see veins. I have had some that I saw veins but couldn't see a baby or movement or whatever and when I check again it is there. If I am not 100% sure it is a quitter I just wait.
The chicks I hatched went to their home tonight. I will miss their cute peeps and fluffy butts!!! 10 of the 12 pictured since each of my girls were holding a baby.
I am hoping to have some fertile eggs this year. Only got one chick to hatch last year and one so far this year. I know my roo was doing his thing but not sure if it was all the fluffy butts preventing it or what. I have 2 roos this year and 19 girls so hopefully one of them can get the job done.
I had to sneak the silkie out real quick. The coloring looks so cool. It is a blueish/silvery/and yellow coloring. Maybe the black skin still showing through?? The other silkie (hatched Tue) is yellow.
3 babies hatched. 1 is a silkie. 2 left one external pip, one just internal pip still.
These are the best pics I can get since they are still in the incubator.
baby #1 is out. It was a talker in the egg when internally pipped and came out screaming just as much and woke me up this morning since the incubator is in my bedroom. haahaa.
#2 has pipped.
10 days would kill me! I figure mom gets up once a day at least for a bit so me taking a min to look isn't going to do any damage or slow anything down. Heck my broody would be off for 30 min up to 1.5 hrs and babies all hatched on time under them. So far in all that I have hatched I...
Good luck to everyone here!
Wow you all have such patience waiting till day 6 to candle. I have a hard time even waiting till day 3 and most times take a quick peek at a couple on day 2. LMAO! Then all on day 3...... I candle just about every other day after that. I am so bad, but I just...
Shine the light through the fat end. You may need to move the egg around a bit to see if any floating aircells or anything else. But always shine light through the fat end and in a dark room.
Edit what breeds did u get?
That is great that they held them for you!!!! Better than bouncing in a truck all day. Good luck. I can't wait to order mine, but thinking maybe the end of Feb.
Tried a photo session with the babies. It is hard. Lol. But this is what I got. One of the babies has huge cheeks!!! One is a light blue with a light spot and a dark spot on its head.
