Anyone ever see a line like this when candling on day 3? I did a few candles, some were dark & hard to see and I saw a few obvious circles starting, but I’ve never seen something like this…it’s only day 3, so a quitter would barely even show. Ideas?
Agreed. The only reason to move it is so you can see better. But I think once it starts zipping you’ll see it just fine! Totally good to just leave it!
Agreed! How fun!
For better, or worse, for richer & poorer. More chicks is better for you & worse for him, you’ll be rich with chicken math and poor with feed & coop costs. 😂 He made the vow! lol
I know someone mentioned Silkies, but my Faverolles (feathered legs) has 5 toes, and I think Dorkings do too!
As far as all black chicks, silkies can be all black, of course Cemanis, and I think Mystic Onyx hybrid from Hopvers is also all black.
Your chicks are beautiful and quite the variety!
I think the hatch a long allows a few days on either side…if you can wait til Thurs that should be close enough! But don’t risk your eggs, just do what’s best for you!
My hatch is officially done! 25 new babies! I cleaned out the incubator (& bought a second…tee-hee!) and will set another bunch on Fri or Sat (or both!) New bator is supposed to arrive Fri, so i May wait til Sat for that group so I can run it for a few hours.
I think I’ve seen people put those chicks in a soup mug lined with paper towels, so they can stay still and absorb whatever didn’t get absorbed. But I personally have no experience with that. Is there any old posts that talk about something similar?
