Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

Sheer luck! Good luck little Care Bear toy. I have something like that only it's in pieces from my Coonhound.

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

Well. An update since it's been awhile. I bought a Swedish Flower Hen for my flock to keep it at 9 layers after my Fibro EE turned out to be a cockerel. It's the 9o'Flock after all! It's been a challenge - to say the least! - getting her (named Penny Lane) integrated into the flock. I thought...

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

They're pretty flimsy. But they're fairly easy to cut and at $2 I can replace them.

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

Today I swiped my neighbor's tossed out chicken swing and decorated it with some old "statement piece" necklaces and other baubles. I hung it in the run and my Not-a-Pullet Pepper had to check it out before he let his Lady Friends near it. Nochicken has attempted to get up on it, but perhaps in...

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

I thought I'd make a perch/roost tree so the 9 o'Flock could roost a little higher than the bleachers. I found the cherry tree limbs as well as the PVC pipe. Maybe I could've been a little more precise about the spiral spacing. Time will tell if baths are in order for anyhen below another. ☺️

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

I made a chicken tractor! I used the PawGiant 130"×40"×40" coop and reinforced it with 1x's, 1x4's and hardware cloth. And a blue million zip-ties. I installed (4) 8" wheels on it to make it mobile. I have to remove the wheels to make it sit flat. It's sort of heavy but that's ok. The 9 o'Flock...

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

I'm a lil nervous. I grabbed clean dirt and sifted the big chunks out with a colander, added dry, washed-river sand from the run and sprinkled a little hickory wood ash on the pile and stirred. The chicks love it, only 1 knew to waller in it. The rest ate it. I sprinkled a little on their backs...

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

The 9 o'Flock! From Meyer Hatchery in Polk, OH. Born June 24, 2024. Out of the box, into the brooder! Little freeloaders! Happy I've changed their pee-pee pads and given fresh chick starter. Yes. They use their toys at 4 days old. They're musical, athletic geniuses. Dot is front, left...

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

Woot woot! Sans finishing touches - like the correct ridge cap and cleaning windows and installing perches... the Funky Chickren Coop is mostly complete. I bled, sweat and nearly cried for sure putting the coop back together. It was given to me, but needed some work. So it is not my design, just...

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

I had a new washer delivered from Costco and the driver thought I was nuts because I was equally excited about the box it came in. "You see, I'm getting chickens..." I told him. 🙃

Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

Thank you so much for your reply! I have, since posting, acquired a 15'L x 5'W Retriever kennel that I will use as a run. I'm going to build a shed roof over it and make the kennel a hardware cloth fortified sandbox. I have lots of creeping, slithering, flying predators and no cover so the...
