    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

Just a shrill single whistle sound. Did any of yours get the tail curl yet, that's another way to be able to tell. A single feather or two on the tail end of the boys will curl when they get a little older if they are males.

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

Have you been able to tell by sounds what sex yours are yet? My little one is finally growing some which is good and I heard a loud whistle yesterday while cleaning out the brooder so usually that is a male which I believe is my bigger one. I have had a female whistle once though, they do...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

My hens have always had a pointed tail end and the drakes more of a rounded one. Size has always told me too.

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

I hope that you get lots of females in your group of Calls when you get them. I am not positive I have a Male and female but about 95% sure by size and rear ends of them. Time will tell of course. This has always been my luck and I am ok with that. Better than 2 drakes but I would be alright...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

We have no subs at my place right now to fill in for us and the Boss has to do it. Believe me you, you'd better be sick or else you are in big trouble for trying to fake it. It's nice when you can get off when you need to. I wasn't sure when mine would come in but they made it on Wednesday...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

I can totally understand that. My problem is that with my work schedule I cannot get to the post office to pick them up as early as I need to so its hard for me to order them all sexed. That's why I have had to chance it at times. I got my Calls over my Spring Break so I could do it...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

These are my two babies, Pastel colored Calls from Metzer. The one on the right is the one I believe is a female and had a really rough start but she is fine now so I am not sure if that is why she is so little or not. The one on the left is growing like a little weed. I am sure it is a male...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

That is why I rehomed my big drakes and got the little Calls in exchange for them. It was a good trade for my hens. I ended up with the one Mallard Drake when I bought 2 from Rural King and they were supposed to be both Runners. They started out that way but the one turned out to be a drake...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

I feel though that in general my flock all tolerate each other well. They only get wound up during mating season which is quite normal for males. Most of the time they are just all chilling and they pair up with their own kind which is funny. That is great that yours all get along too. I...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

For being so little they are really feisty. At least all of my little drakes have been. They will pull on the wings of my big Muscovy girls and think nothing of it. They chase my Mallard drake all over if he gets too close to their girlfriends. They mate my Khaki Campbells and Mallard Hens...

That will be here before we know it. Be sure to show us pictures. Do you have other Calls or will these be your first?

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

I have the three drakes, 2 Calls and one Mallard but my Mallard even though I have all those Hens picks on my poor Mule Duck to be his Lady and she wants nothing at all to do with him. Makes life in the pen for her not a happy one. I may rehome him if he keeps it up.

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

What did you order? Sorry if I missed that post. I had specified that I wanted Pastel ducklings and they are for sure. One is just so big and I pray it does not get huge. It makes the other look all the more tinier. I hope you get the ones you want.

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

Yes it is amazing. I have sold many drakes at 6 weeks when they were fully feathered and chasing my girls around like crazy. These little guys seem to take longer being so small to start with. I just hope my tiny once grows, it seems to be since I have gotten it all straightened out from its...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

Thanks for the update. Oh Yes, I would love to see a video of yours. Are they feathered out yet? I read somewhere where it says they aren't done growing until 9 weeks of age. Do any of your Calls quack yet or are they still peeping? I am thinking I have a drake and hen only because of size...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

Have you been able to tell what your little Call Ducks are yet? My little one that I had all of the trouble with is just fine now but soooo tiny and the other one is sooooo big. I don't know how big they should really be at 2 weeks of age. This is my first time for getting them as babies. I...

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

Thanks a lot. That's encouraging. Hopefully since now I have her on the right road she will take off and grow some. I guess Calls are not full grown until 9 weeks old so it may take time. These were born around the 25th of March.

    Call Duck Assortment from Metzers

Thanks so much Miss Lydia for posting them. They love to try to hide whenever I put my phone in the brooder to get a picture, lol. The one that I am calling Daisey is still very small and Donald on the other hand is growing like a weed. Hopefully he will not get huge! It would be nice if I...
