We have fertile Spitz in the incubator. Looks like breeding season is underway.

We have always had decent results on shipped eggs. Although we have a couple of places we have shipped eggs and received eggs from them with virtually no results for our efforts.

Started my Spitz on vitamins about three weeks ago, fingers crossed they start laying.

You know whats not fun? We just spent 10 minutes chasing one of our Spitzhauben breeder roosters around the horse pasture. Imagine 5 of us trying to corner a flighty little Chamois Spitzhuben rooster. I am sure it was a funny sight. We were relocating our Spitz and Coronations from the horse...

I think you would be more than fine with a coop with a covered run for free ranging. Make it moveable so they can keep access to grass.

Our Spitz do fine in confinement. That being said they do enjoy space also.

I can agree with that. I just wish mine would get back to laying they took almost half the year off.

Thanks, we had Silver also but had to cut back to one breeding pen only.

Mine are far from calm, they are adorable but prefer no human contact. Walking through their coop sometimes sends them off.
