Love them!
I need more hens so that my one lone silkie hen can be saved from her three men(An old english game, a brahma, and a japanese). I will buy the chicks and feed myself if I have to convince my parents to let me get more.
That is not my boy in my avatar, but that is generally what he looks like. He is currently molting though so he looks a little different, and he doesn't keep his feathers white, they're yellow except for his new ones.
Your guy will stop growing at a noticeable rate, but you will look back and...
They look nice! My guy enjoys to give the occasional crow, and while I can pick him up and flip him on his back and walk around with him, he doesn't exactly enjoy it, he likes to have his space. He seems to like me because he is always at the fence when I walk over, he just needs his personal...
My guy loves to crow in the morning and will do it occasionally during the day.
He looks so funny now! he is molting and only has two of his long tail feathers sticking out!:lau His new ones are growing back in, so now he can start looking like a king again!
I'm hoping to get a btw(or some sort of a japanese) hen for my btw roo who is feeling lonely. He has three companions, but two are roos and will be moving out; and he still thinks that the bigger hens are his. I am hoping that he will settle down and be happy with his new flock and accept them...
He is beautiful, if l was on my own then l would totally have tons of japanese bantams of all colors.
That is cute! l don't take naps and would be too worried to sleep with one if l did. However, l do love to catch a chick, hold them upside down, and rub their belly gently. They calme down...
That is pretty good, l have had chickens for almost a year and a half now and can imagine the dedication it takes to breed for very specific traits. l just tried to look up what the color is, but couldn't find any thing, so maybe no one has really put a name to that color. l have no idea.
Yes it is a little cruel, and other than the tail being held crookedly he is perfectly normal. However, I do not get a lot of support at home with my chickens. My siblings don't care and my dad would just love to cook them all up, my mom though, seems to support me. So doing things for my...
No not really, l don't even have a phone.
Well, his tail wasn't lopsided at first, over winter l had to keep him in a tote in the garage in order to keep him warm. He started to hold his tail diagonally then in an effort to save his tail, which sort of worked.
She is very pretty, is she for show? I will be getting a silver sebright bantam(for my sister) and will be trying out a black silkie as well, am half tempted to forget the silkie and get another jap. When they are old enough then l will put them with my lonely jap roo.
That would be really nice, it really beats him up being alone, don't worry! I will give hime 2 or 3 hens from our first batch of home hatched chicks to him(they will be full sized but he won't mind, so long as he has a flock!).
I have just one BTW roo, he is totally devoted to his flock of full-sized chickens and tries to tell them when he has food, even though he isn't out free ranging with them and they took off a bit of his comb(their was blood all over his neck!). I would just love to get him some bantam hens that...
