I won my box in a raffle again. I'm getting mine first week in march. So excited!!
We love our cackle birds. We always get a great variety and I'd say around 70-75% hens
54 Chicks (1DOA), 1 Blue Slate Turkey, and 1 Rouen Duckling!!
1 more chick passed shortly after coming home. All the rest seem to be doing good.
Lots of cochins! (our fav) and we got a golden spitz so happy because we lost our golden spitz roo a few weeks back.
Looks like a gold laced polish. We got about 5 of those in our box. It looks like you also have a few black white crested polish, I also see a silver laced wyandotte and some cochin I believe.
wouldn't it be awesome to get a pea fowl?! good luck on your chicks. I think this time around they spent an extra day in transit and some where just too weak. I gave electrolytes and warmed them up but it was too late.
2 more chicks passed. The others seem to be doing great. We have some gold laced polish, easter eggers, white sultans, gold laced wyandottes and a bunch more that I have no idea on. Like I said, lots of fuzzy legs. They are all adorable!
I was hoping for some ducks, 2 boxes ordered 1 last year...
I requested a June date, but I have not received my ship date yet so we will see what happens. We were very impressed with our box last August. Good variety.
Yes and all of our 52 chicks were live and well. I've just read some people end up with sick birds and sometimes don't end up getting the refund or replacements for several reasons. I am happy with cackle hatchery and can't wait to order again.
Well that's a bummer! I'm sure it still ends up being a great deal. You can easily sell off the birds you don't want and get most if not all your money back. That is if you receive live, healthy birds. I can't wait to order ours! Hoping for some ducks or guineas this time around.
our chicks are growing! we put them out in the lawn while we deep cleaned their brooder and they had a blast!
I gave 13 away to my sister, and we lost one of the smaller bantam chicks, not sure why. Everyone else seems healthy and happy. Still trying to figure out some of the breeds.
