So sweet. My boy dodger was laying next to a mixed black bantam while she laid her egg keeping her company. I wish i was able to take a pic:(
My point being:
Jap bantam roos are such little gentlemen :)
I suspect he had his removed because i got him in the early mid summer and he was fully developed in summer crosummernd had no signs of spurs then and now still nothing!
Question on this breed and spurs: whst age did your roos have signs of spurs showing? I think my rooster was despurred. Had him almost obe year he had been able to crow since i have hsf him and still no sight of spurs..nothing
I really would likr to find my JMP a JMP a wife and breed them z i cant find any locally so i will have to probably order this breed online if I want more....i just have a black mottled oegb hen possibly mix part japanese but she doesnt have same colored the classic prety bright yellow legs...

Meet dodger. . JMB..
Um, i havw a rooster hes fine in rain cannot stand the snow..umm, i know hes not good at protecting hens because a cooper hawk got one of my old englisg hens but he avoids shady tree areas now. I think he avoids predators good he notices squirrels or any neighbors he crows...
I have two bators.. One is a styrofoam& homemade one which stays accurate with hygrometer and a seven egg incubator with a happy farm remote hydrometer with a sensor attached to end of cord to make sure incubator stays consistent!
