Thank you! Haris is indeed very tiny! Its sibling, number 4 might be even tinier. Their personalities are not alike, though. Haris is a little shark, while number four is a sweetheart
That's serama for you! Always so cute. They're adorable, trying to go under the fluff of the LFs like they would if they were raised by a broody. They peck their feet too:p
A bit of what I've been up to these past few days and weeks. I recently hatched 19 Tsouloufates/Tsouloufati mixes and 4 serama from my own birds. They've been very entertaining to watch
They sound great! Their size is truly shocking sometimes, even though they're not one of the tallest gamefowl. Good luck! I bet they're already very friendly
I've got to do Easter preparation cleaning too. I've yet to kill myself, I round the boys up and send them to an acquaintance who butchers them for me
Glad you're feeling good today. So far, seems like a gorgeous Saturday for all!
My silkie mix cockerel was indeed very low-key. Serama are a whole different category. Lady Gaga crows almost constantly, but thank God his crows are high pitched, so they don't travel past my closest neighbour's house
I've thought about doing it with *some* of the boys. Right now I'm working with four boys. One is likely to get butchered. Ideally, no male would be crowing at 5 in the morning, but I'm not even trying to catch Kolovos. Big Red and Lady Gaga are way easier to catch, because I can simply pick...
Wow! I'm sorry you got sold mixes (or another breed entirely) when you thought you were getting pure Sussex
@chickengr explained what Tsouloufates are perfectly. They come with a few different names, but it's all the same bird
Sorry to hear about your birds, and most importantly your terrible accident, Maiahr. Glad to hear you're on the mend, and starting over again❤
I once again lost this thread. I'm making preparations to hatch serama chicks, and enjoying seeing the Tsouloufates I bred mature
The stories I've heard are with aseel starting the fight. Keep in mind that some (I'll go out on a limb and say most) aseel will not engage with a turkey, they are incredibly smart after all. But it's better to be save than sorry. Yes, a drake mating an aseel hen would be bad. I personally have...
