I think there's a lot of confusion here. That is a radiant heat bulb. There is no light and it actually does not get hot. I have used these forever and they do well and will not cause a fire should they fall. To each their own with safety precautions but these are not like regular heat lamps
We use heat lamps here to brood all chick's as we brood hundreds at a time. We give them normal tap water fresh daily with a vitamin/electrolyte/pro biotic mix. I put the water on the far end of the brood where no light hits it. It gets to room temperature at the most. Newly hatched day Olds...
there is no reason to heat the chick's water. We always give our chick's cold weather and keep it out of the heat. Haven't lost any for that reason yet. Raise hundreds every year.
my bf said I can raise all I want as long as they are OUTSIDE. He didn't have much option, either help build it, or they continue to live in the house.
Oh, it's 3X3 ft square and the bottom is wire floor to raise waterfowl so they don't rot a wooden floor out with their water mess.

I use to use Rubbermaid tubs to raise chicks and ducklings all last year. They stunk even cleaned daily and the chicks outgrew them way to fast. Here's my solution. I really need a second one but this will work for now!
