yes mom survived luckily. the baby is super super small and has a hard time nursing. she and mom got dehydrated, then mom retained the placenta. after that the baby had to get tube fed and was helped to nurse every hour. we pick them up from the vet today and have to give antibiotic shots...

Today was awesome! My silkied hen got reserve champion female and champion female silkied! Finn got 4th place in the males prospect class. Truffles made it into the second tier and Kingsley got 3rd place silkied male! I'm very proud!

I'm not sure if l asked about chicken show transport boxes here but this is the one I made. There are 3 dividers and the ones on the end can hold a pair and the one in the middle can hold a trio (of seramas) I added places for waterers to be attached incase they need to stay in there overnight...

The last silkie had been in the shell for awhile. It made the pip bigger but never started to zip. I checked to see if it was shrink-wrapped and it was so I helped it out. Final count is 3 seramas and 6 silkies. I candled the other eggs and they looked dead for sure so i took them out and as...

I have another silkie chick! After the last one hatches I am going to candle and see if the others are alive, if not I get to clean my incubator a whole ENTIRE DAY EARLY! That makes me happy

Another silkie chick hatched. That brings my total count to 3 serama chicks and 5 silkie chicks. I have 2 more silkie pips and one serama with a internal pip. which would leave 3 dud eggs. But that is still pretty good!

Can't wait until they hatch!
