Hey @inmillity , welcome to the site! Yeah, Ben's gotten a bit too busy to maintain a proper BYC addiction, but luckily he still checks in from time to time. If you're in need of more reading material, I suggest Ozexpat's "Getting the flock out of here" thread.

Well that is one cute puppy. Soon she will be peeing all over your carpets :p. The breeder sounds like a down to Earth person, that's good. And the bad kind of exercise is repetitive movement. Unleashed running isn't as bad.

I'd say getting a dog from a breeder is often the better choice, but really depends on what you're looking for in a dog. But adopting from a shelter usually means that someone has gotten rid of that dog for a reason. More often than not, it's caused by the previous owner, but adopting a grown...

Nice job, Ben! Once again, the post was super interesting to read. Crazy pace though, I can't understand how you did it. My personal best of all time with anything similar was 85km in 27 hours in the military. Ok, that was carrying a weapon, 15 kg of gear, and in combat boots, but still. Never...

Hiya Ben, hope everything's going well. How did the race go? Can we find a description of it somewhere? I love reading your run play by plays. And Scott, as promised, here you go: By the way, here's where the tree in question is located...

Humans are actually quite terrifying. We can heal from severe trauma, we can learn to make up for loss of limbs, and there are very few things we aren't able to track. We also use tools to a very high degree. And like stated before, given enough time and distance, we can outlast most other...

Nice looking bird, Ben. 160 clicks? You're crazy... I could never see myself doing that.

I know the feeling, we've been down to one layer for 2 months now. 6 eggs per week is a bit sad... It's been interesting to find how bad commercial eggs taste compared to our own though. No taste in the store bought ones.

The birds are looking great, especially that black and white laced one.

Nice to hear it's going well. That track looks like a comfortable surface to run on, but I think sometime around the 78th lap I might start to get a bit bored with the scenery... Bell sounds like she's inherited your toughness.

Actually, last week was sunny until Sunday, only rainy day all week. That's when I took the pic. The beginning of the year has had more cloud cover than usually though.

Perhaps yeast would be a better comparison. All the alcohol fumes... Ben, I hope everything is going well over there, you seem to be keeping busy. Scott, another one for you:

Our four adolescent roos are now about four months old. None of them are properly crowing yet, although I did catch the most developed one practicing a bit last week. I'd like to get rid of these boys soon, but there's very little meat on them yet. The next batch of chicks are 9 days old...

Might be the start of Ben's very own no crow breed.
