The mother of the red sex links in the 90% of the occasions is a single combed RIW bred for eggs and small apetite.I don't currently have Hy-lines, but I have had them on a number of different occasions in the past. Hy-Line is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links, which are produced by crossing a red gene rooster (RIR, NHR, or Production Red) with a silver gene hen (WR, RIW, SLW, Delaware, or Light Sussex). Other labels under which hatcheries market Red Sex Links include Gold Line, Red Star, Gold Star, Brown Sex link, Gold Sex Link, Cinnamon Queen, Golden Buff, Golden Comet, Hubbard's Golden Comet, Bovans Brown, Isa Brown, Shaver Brown, Babcock Brown, Warrens, Lohman, Lohmans Brown, etc., but no matter which label they are marketed under, they are all egg laying machines.
