I have seen negative posts about silver laced Wyandotte’s. My slw are great with my flock which includes silkies, barred rocks, sapphire gem, Cochin, and bantams. I have one slw that’s the leader of the flock. She is first to exit the enclosure in the morning and last to go in at night. She lets...
Alright forum, let's see what I've got! I've been doing a little research, but want to know if my guesses are correct.
I'll post a name, age in the pic, and 3 good pics. The two pullets from TSC look exactly the same, so I'll only post one set of pics for them.
Ruth & Sandra, 16 weeks...
I recently bought some chicks (from an Orscheln's) and I got my first bantam chick from a bin of assorted sexed bantams. I've been trying to figure out what type of bantam she is, but there are so many options that I can't tell. At first I thought maybe a cochin bantam, but I'm not sure now...
Hi everyone,
Today I got six bantams from Tractor Supply Company and I’m having some trouble identifying a few of them.
The one that stumps me the most is this white and grey chick with black and white wings with slightly feathered feet (first two pictures). Also pretty unsure about that black...
This 7 week old bantam is confusing me. The comb is there, but it’s yellowish but wattles are coming too. It would help if I knew the breed too. Only one I have like this. Sometimes it looks pink, but it’s yellow tinted.
mottled Cochin bantam? Furriest feet I’ve ever seen.
He/She is very...

Really not sure of the age either because TSC didn’t say... all they said was I got 6 straight run bantam chicks. What breed/s might they be?
thank you in advance!
(Newbie chicken owner)
So now all my chicks are 4 weeks. Last time I posted I got nothing that really gave me a reason why (when they were 3 weeks). This one particular chick isn’t really getting any new feathers, or growing at all. I don’t know if I should be worried? Here are pictures (I don’t know what breed he/she...
Hey everyone, long time lurker to the forums but newly registered since I actually have chickens now. Looking for help with breed identification and sexing of possible. 5 chicks purchased from the bantam box at Tractor Supply.
Girl that helped us there was extremely helpful and knowledgeable...
This is a bantam chick we’d picked out of an “assorted bantam” bin at a feed store. S/he’s 4 weeks old tomorrow, I was wondering if anyone could tell at this point what bantam breed s/he is?
Here’s a picture of when we got him/her.
I got these bantam chicks at TSC a couple days ago. No one working there had any idea what they were. Can anyone help me out? I'm pretty sure 2 of them are silkies or cochins because they have feathered feet... Other than that I'm pretty much at a total loss. I'll get some better pictures of...
I got these guys at tractor supply in the bantam assortment... I know that the silkies in that mix are often a terribly poor depiction of their breed, but even an ugly as sin silkie like this one is hilarious.
But my goodness why is he or she, I've been calling him a him, so big?!
I have 8 new bantams almost 3 weeks old. I ordered them from tractor supply online to be pets and eat grasshoppers in my yard. I would like more information about gender and what kinds they might be. Thank you
Hello! I am new to the whole chicken raising business and recently got 4 bantam chickens but am unsure of breeds or genders. I believe one is a Buff Orpington and one is a Blue-Laced Wyandotte. Also, the black chick is looking suspiciously like a roo because of its well developed, red comb...
I was looking for D’Uccles and grabbed two that were self blue. These other two one is more golden and other is lighter. Was looking for cheeks! But think the lighter one is a Cochin. Any hints?
Hi everyone! We bought 6 bantam chicks today and we are curious about their likely breeds. My phone doesn't take very good pics, so I'll post as many as I can for a better view!
-1 is orange/reddish, feathered feet, bantam.
-1 is black & white, bantam.
-1 is light brown with black "stripes" on...
got This beauty in the bantam bin today at the farm store. Why are your breed guesses? S/he has 5 toes on each foot, feathered legs and a crest! We also can’t think of a name.
I got a single bantam chick from assortment at farm store, (to be a buddy for an orphan Spitzhauben I hatched last week from late hatching egg that hen abandoned. Sadly hen would not accept her baby, wanted to kill it. So poor little orphan was alone, crying in a brooder.) Anyway, this...
I am a new chicken mommy. I have 4 silkies (JJ, Pebbles, BamBam, Black Betty) , 2 golden sebrights (Lucy and Lacey), and 1 unidentified breed who is named Little Ugly One. I got her from TSC from the assorted bantam bin and I’m not sure of the breed. She’s around 6 weeks old now. And I’m...
