Hello!
I have a mottled cochin bantam (Gil) about 18 weeks old. She lives with two blue Andalusians that are the same age. Yesterday when I let them out, I noticed that none of them were really eating very much. The blues did a little bit, but Gil didn't at all. She ate grass and whatever bugs...
This chick was naturally bred by our Cochin Bantam rooster and Japanese Bantam hen. We've had 2 other chickens bred from these two who both turned out to be hens. Does the lump on this chicks chest signify that its a rooster or some sort of issue like an air bubble?
Can I get some help identifying the breed and color of the 4 Littles I got?
I believe #2 is a d'uccle, but I am unsure of color (maybe Mille Fleur?).The other 3 I believe to be cochin bantams but I am not sure and also I don't know what color they are either.
Is #4 a red cochin bantam? (Pretty...
I ordered chicks a couple days ago, they arrived a few hours ago. I stuck them all under my Cochin bantam (Betty) who has been sitting for a while and she took them all immediately. Somehow she has fit 18 chicks under her! 6 bantam Cochin, 6 Japanese bantam, and 6 Cornish x. I tend to have luck...

Well my sister and I incubated 23 eggs during the cold snap that hit Texas around Christmas and we had 18 chicks hatch out it. My go to chicken breeder had her incubator open as she wasn’t hatching anything at the moment and hatched them out for us. They’re Cochin bantams chicks. The fathers are...

Hello!
I will be breeding a silkie rooster to a bantam brahma and a frizzle bantam cochin. The 2 non-silkie girls live with my silkies and I figured that since I'm probably gonna accidentally mix their eggs in with the silkie hatching eggs, I might aswell purposely hatch some chicks from them.
I...

Nugget (the more yellow one) is as bold as brass, seemingly fearless.
Kiev (the more reddish one) is more timid and cuddly of the two.
Heihei is the GLW who's feathering so much...
