Hi everyone,
My first batch of chicks hatched for this year! 😍 they are barnyard mixes from our Light Brahma rooster and Silver Laced Wyandotte rooster. The hens are an Easter egger, Brahmas, Orpington, and a Black Star. Y’all have been right on my last batch so I’d love to hear your thoughts...
Aloha from Hawaii!
I’m new to all of this and have been raising 3 chicks that were supposed to be female.
They are doing great but I’m concerned that one might be a cockerel.
They are all approx. 16-18 weeks old and this one is much bigger than the others.
She/he is also the boss of the other...
Hey, my muscovy duckling is 1 month old, am i right in saying its a male? I have no other ducklings to compare him to but its looking rather masculine to me 😅 any help is appreciated, thanks
I have a Rouen duckling that was given to me, they are 2 weeks old. Over the past few days they have started to make this short high pitched whistle. Sometimes they’ll do two whistles in a row but it’s mostly just once.
Does the whistling mean they’re a male? Or do both male and female Rouens...
This chick was naturally bred by our Cochin Bantam rooster and Japanese Bantam hen. We've had 2 other chickens bred from these two who both turned out to be hens. Does the lump on this chicks chest signify that its a rooster or some sort of issue like an air bubble?
I have a mallard who was VERY loud as a baby and I was told was likely a female. I had no doubts until today. The duck has no curled tail feather, has a brown/orange beak and feet, and brown feathers with white on the wings. Today it was playing under the heat lamp and there is a slight green...
This is my 14 week old Royal Palm. I’ve always though she was a hen. I’ve never seen her strut and never heard her gobble. She does talk a lot, but no gobbles. Does it look like I’m right, she is a hen? Or is she a he? 🤔 Thanks!
Hi y’all, new to turkeys and was wondering what you guys think of this one? Super polite and curious with no aggression, no strutting, and no gobbling. Hatched on March 5th so almost 4 months old and is a Narragansett.
Hi friends! New here - first post, just joined!
We have 2 5 week old Rhode Island Red and 2 5 week old Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks and it has been a wonderful journey for our family thus far. My SLW we have no doubt are females, but the RIR, they are giving us fears we have Roos! Wife, kids...
Got 5 straight run RIR chicks! They are about 5 almost 6 weeks old. Wanted to see if anyone could help me figure out which ones are male vs female. They have colored bands on their legs and one has no band. So far I believe purple is a rooster and green is a hen. Does anyone have any advice as...
I need help sexing my 5 week old easter eggers. Heres chick 1, the chick I am 80% sure is a pullet. Chick 2. One I am 100% sure is a male. Chick 3 one I am also sure is a male. Chick 4was unable to get a side view.
Newbie chicken owner, just need some expert eye to confirm my suspicion about 2 of my flock, 9/10 week old bantam peking frizzles, all my indications suspect that the 2 pictures, attached are males, they look, rather elegant and pretty which is throwing me, but the red comb and wattle leads me...
I am hoping some of you out there that have raised quite a few ducks male and female can help. At this point unless this is a female I have only had drakes. Now I know once adult what a male sounds like, and I’ve heard on the internet what an adult female is supposed to sound like. However...

So i got 2 chicks and now they are about 7 months old. When they were younger , like two -3 months ago… i was pretty sure that the white one is male and the dark one was female, but now they are starting to look more alike. So what do you think? Is it also a male dark one?
I have 2 Muscovies: Bug And Lemon. Bug is the black one and lemon is the white one. Lemon has been biting me when I touch her/him so I'm thinking it's a boy. Bug is more soft and gentle to me, although does bite occasionally. Bug came out of the egg about 2/3 the size of lemon. Lemon is 1 day...
I bought 3 unsexed Vorwerk chicks in June and they are now 11-12 weeks old. I am unsure as to whether I have cockerels or pullets? They have female feathering but otherwise I am not sure whether they could still turn out to be cockerels? Can anyone help me out in finding out their genders...
