I have a 3 week old Salmon Faverolle, I'm thinking it's a boy, but I need confirmation. It's from a breeder, who has very nicely colored SF, so the odds of it being a dark female IMO are slim but still holding out hope it's a hen. Thoughts?
I purchased some assorted bantams from my local feed store. I didn't actually pick them out but I was supposed to get 2 frizzles. So far only one is frizzling , while the other is ... Not. I have no idea what it is. It has 5 toes so maybe a silkie mix but there is no crest or blue "lobes"...
Hey yall! I'm Alex, nice to meetcha 😀
Rocky Road the Fibro EE, Cassiopeia the Prairie Bluebell Egger and Pantera the Ayam Cemani.
Fairly new chicken mama here (we got our first chicks back in February) who is just starting to dip my toes into breeding, so I've come to this forum to learn as...
Top two are Salmon Faverolles (left: pullet; right: cockerel). Middle right is Faverolle cockerel, rest are Sapphire Gem pullets. Taken when they were 4-5 weeks old. Though Faverolle pullet seems to be 1-2 weeks older than the rest. Purchased at the same time. She grew much quicker than the others.
I have a 3mo old Salmon Faverolle who is limping and has a black circle scab on her foot. I am a first time chicken mum, should I take her to the vet? It looks like she’s in pain and I’ve been spraying the vetericyn on her injury twice a day and cleaned out her bedding area. What should I do?
Hi all,
I have a 1-year-old salmon Faverolles hen. Today I noticed that her comb seemed to have a more bluish/purplish color than normal. I looked through some photos from a few days ago (more specifically the 12th) and she had a bluish comb then too, I just didn’t notice it. It looks like it...
I purchased her thinking she was a Salmon Favorelle pullet back in March, however now I’m wondering if she is a salmon, and if she is even a she! I am definitely no expert on this however when I see other videos and pictures of a salmon at this age they already have a beard/muff. My son also...
I was given 3 Salmon faverolle chicks today, and I'm new to chickens still. It's my first time dealing with this breed. The lady told me they are all roosters. That is why she didn't want them. She raises chickens all kinds. She knows her stuff. It's me doubting lol hoping I got one hen. Not...
I have been reading that young SF chick pullets can be varied in color and have no tail feathers. So I am hoping this 6-week chick is a pullet, but I’m wanting feedback. She does have some dark areas, but I don’t know if I would say they are “black”. No black on her chest. Her wings are layered...
Hey everyone, I am desperately needing to find great homes for some roosters!! I have one Speckled Sussex (13 weeks), two Salmon Faverolles (17-18 weeks), and one Splash Ameraucana (17-18 weeks). I love them all and wish I could keep them, but unfortunately in my town I’m not allowed to have...
Hey guys! This post is for the future so I can keep tabs on it. Right now my flock has infectious bronchitis and I can't add anyone into my flock until next year, probably late summer or fall.
I'm looking for Salmon Faverolle breeders who sell day old chicks somewhere near Poteau, OK, Fort...
Have about 8 cockerels for give away. Dad is a Copper Marans and very gentle. He is a bit henplucked, LOL. Moms are also well dispositioned.... Salmon Faverolle, Barred Rock, Light Ameraucana, and Dark Ameraucana. Believe the gray chick to be the Light Ameraucana cross. Both Salmon Faverolle...
New chick owner here, we have 4 mixed chicks that are almost 5 weeks old and are starting to worry about having a rooster due to neighbours etc.
Long story short, we got given an egg at a carnival and ended up incubating it and out hatched Jazzi!! We THINK she is a salmon Faverolle? And if so...
Ive got a black silkie, salmon faverolle, buff and lavender orpingtons, a sapphire gem and sapphire egger, a gold laced wyandotte, silver laced polish, a cinnamon queen, and an americauna.
I have a ~6 week old salmon faverolle who has feathered out like a hen but has the biggest reddest comb of the baby flock. She is a SHE, right? The only one of her breed in the mix so I’m hoping this is just a breed development thing. She would have black chest feathers if she were a cockerel right?
Hey there, loving all my recent impulse buys from TSC and got a little too excited about some straight run chicks I decided to take the gamble. I have two burning questions. First is breed. They were in a mixed bin labeled as cuckoo marans (the others were salmon faverolles, which I bought too...
