Hello all!
I know my chick is fairly young to gender accurately, but my understanding is that Wheatons specifically can typically be sexed by 3 weeks. I suspect this little may be a rooster...darker wing feathers than my other 2, and comb developing a bit more pronounced already. I'm new to this...
this six week old chick has an all black comb so I can’t tell if it’s a roo from early redness in the comb.. I think the tail looks roo-ish but I’m hoping not.
Hi first time chicken owner. I'm not allowed to own roosters in my city so it'd be best if I can identify them early and return them to the store. I've looked up online and makes don't usually have tail feathers but the chicks comb is pretty defined this young.
I have some pictures that I took last night of the babies in question. Can someone please educate me on how to know if I have a hen or a rooster.
The black and white little one is 7 weeks old while the other two are 7 weeks and 5 days old. Pics of the birds in question (head, body, feet) the...
We got our chicks from TS and they hatched about April 24th. This chick has just been different from the beginning. We now have a debate on if it is a Roo or Pullet. We are 1st time chicken owners so any help is appreciated.
Hi everyone, this is my first time asking a question on here! Anyway, I just recently got a few chicks. There are two that I am wondering if they are going to be roosters or if I’m just overthinking. First, I read that Olive Eggers can be sexed by males having a white dot on their head. I am...
Anyone wanna guess the gender of my chicks? This is just for fun, I know they are too young to know right now. But for someone reason I think Wednesday is a Roo and the other two are hens.
We have:
Kiki- White
Muffin- Lavendar
Wednesday- Black
It’s a nice warm day in NC so I let them outside...
Hey guys!
So I bought a couple chicks from the store.
I have a black copper maran chick and he/she is aggressive. Idk if that’s common for the breed or what.
But every time my hand goes in it pecks at me. None of the other chicks do this.
I got them on March 7th
Let me know if you need...
Got bamboozled and ended up with three chicks. Language barriers existed… it’s a long story.
Anyway, did I get double bamboozled and also get cockerels? Normally I’m not bad at IDing but these birds are bizarre and have me stumped.
Breed is “a massive orange rooster” for a dad, and the mom...
Hi there fellow chicken enthusiasts! I am really new to this business and have been obsessed with reading and watching videos on what possible genders and breeds my bundles of fluff could be. I know that the sexing methods aren't really something that can be trusted and that I should wait for...
Easter eggers....New to the breed and not quite sure the genders. One is for sure a cockerel but not certain on the other 3. Thanks for any help! (And sorry i couldnt get better pictures!)
Hey!! I have a BUNCH of 1 month old chicks and I have no clue on how to sex them. I’ve tried to looking on Google but that wasn’t helpful :/ I would usually wait untill they are like 2-3 months old but I have too many and I’m trying to sell a majority of them! Help would be appreciated!!
I went to my local feed store & bought two (what I thought were) female Golden sex links. That’s what the lady told me.
I now know that I have one Polish & a GSL…. but I’m not sure if they’re female.
I’ve been researching like crazy & now I’m not sure if the GSL is a GSL or honestly anything...
Hi all,
What do you think?? He or she?? There are 2 Lavender Orpingtons, 1 Black Copper maran, and 1 Buff Orpington.
They are all the same age, approximately 2 weeks old.
The Lavender Orpingtons are pullets, according to my grandma. What do you think about the other two?
Hello!
I have two Buff Orpington chicks that just turned 6 weeks old yesterday (born July 31st). I posted when they were 4 weeks old but the general consensus was that I should re-post at 6 weeks. So here we go!
First chick’s name is Connor:
The second chick’s name is Henrietta:
Sooooo...
They were hatched on June 20th, so around 6wks. The red one is an australorp mix and the other two we aren’t 100% sure. Might be too early to tell, but thought I’d ask!
Hello Everyone!
My flock is about 6-7 weeks old now. I have introduced them outside to their permanent home. Everything seems to be going good so far, except a couple of concerns.
They will not go inside the coop by themselves at night. I know its clean, so possbile bugs, pest, etc. are not an...
This is one of our first easter egger chicks we hatched ourselves and I'm just wondering what everyone thinks it is based on feathers. Just for fun I know it takes a while to actually sex them.
