Hi there! Welcome to MotherClucker Farm. We exclusively raise Turkens AKA Naked Neck Chickens. We have gone through an extensive breeding program so YOU get the nicest and largest Turkens. We breed for size, laying ability, friendliness, and feather confirmation. Many of our chickens are "bare neck" with no bowtie (a confirmation characteristic). We are offering a mixed color package that includes White, Barred, Black, Blue, Blue Barred Roosters over Red, Buff, Lemon, JUBILEE, Black, and Barred Hens, I also have a special Aloha Project ongoing and your box will include this mix. We pasture our chickens and feed them only organic high-quality food as well as use NO ANTIBOITICS or STERIODS on them. They are wormed regularly with organic wormer. We also feed treats of mealworms and other bugs---our chickens are fat-happy chickens.

I started keeping Turkens about 12 years ago and found that out of all of the other chicken breeds I owned THESE were the friendliest, best-laying, nicely rounded table chicken. It is a FACT that Turkens lay better than most chickens. They have 50% fewer feathers than other breeds which means they dedicate their energy to egg and meat production. My hens lay 10 months out of the year with NO supplemental light. They are also VERY heat and cold-tolerant. They can thermoregulate by pulling their necks in or out. We love our chickens very much and would like to share them with you!

**Please understand this important fact about Hatching Turkens**
With our Turkens you may get a 15%-25% chance of full feather ratio (THEY WILL LOOK LIKE NORMAL CHICKENS). These chickens will produce bowtie Turkens when bred. Bowties are the little puff of feathers on most Turken necks. When a clean neck is paired with another clean neck you get a pure strain that is likely to produce 80% Turkens with no bowtie, the rest will have bowties. We currently have a flock with 50% bowtie (Heterozygous Nn ) and 50% clean-necked (Homozygous NN ). I am working on a 100% Homozygous flock at this time and your hatch may have some of these. NPA recognizes both Heterozygous and Homozygous varieties in show. Some like the bowtie, while others do not.

Shipping: Each egg is individually wrapped in bubble wrap for safety and placed in a FLAT RATE box surrounded with packing material. I DO NOT MARK MY BOXES (I have found they arrive safer if not marked with contents or fragile). Insurance is included in the shipping (I ship PRIORITY). I DO INCLUDE EXTRA EGGS JUST IN CASE.

THERE IS NO REFUND ON DAMAGED EGGS, BUT REPLACEMENTS WILL BE CONSIDERED CASE BY CASE.
I am not out to defraud anyone---but I have been the victim of scammers myself.

I am NOT responsible for low hatch rates. I regularly hatch my own eggs and check for fertility. I have an 80-100% hatch rate on my chickens. I am HAPPY to walk you through how I hatch my eggs, please feel free to ask! I also normally have a 70%-80% hatch on shipped eggs I receive. Please be aware that this is OVER the standard of normal which can be around 50%.

I SHIP MONDAY - TUESDAYS ONLY AS I DO NOT WANT THE EGGS SITTING IN THE USPS OR WORSE IN A TRUCK OVER THE WEEKEND. I WILL COLLECT THE FRESHEST EGGS THE DAY RIGHT BEFORE OR THE DAY OF SHIPPING. I DO NOT WASH MY EGGS---this reduces hatch rate. You MAY receive eggs with dirt or nesting material (only a slight amount---I only hatch the cleanest eggs myself) this is NATURAL and contains the mother hen's flora that keeps out bacteria after it exits the cloaca.

IF I FEEL LIKE I HAVE NOT GOTTEN CLEAN ENOUGH EGGS TO SHIP AFTER YOUR PURCHASE I WILL CONTACT YOU ABOUT A NEW DELIVERY DATE. This is NOT a presale as I collect about 3 dozen eggs a day but I find it very important you get CLEAN and FRESH eggs that are up to my personal hatching standards. No subpar eggs will be sent.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND REQUESTING the post office HOLD FOR PICKUP with a phone #. This means you will need to drive to your local post office to claim your eggs. It is MUCH better than having them sit outside in the weather or in a hot truck all day. At the Post Office they are climate controlled. I have a much higher hatch rate when I do this. IF I DO NOT RECEIVE AN ANSWER I WILL NOT MARK THEM HOLD.

Turken Information:
The Naked Neck is a breed of chicken that is naturally devoid of feathers on its neck. The breed is also called the Transylvanian Naked Neck, as well as the Turken. Originally from Transylvania and was largely developed in Germany. The name "Turken" arose from the mistaken idea that the bird was a hybrid of a chicken and the domestic turkey. Naked Necks are fairly common in Europe today, but are rare in North America. The trait for a naked neck is a dominant one controlled by one gene and is fairly easy to introduce into other breeds,[1] however these are hybrids rather than true Naked Necks, which is a breed recognized by the American Poultry Association since 1965, it was introduced in the Britain in the 1920s. There are other breeds of naked necked chicken, such as the French naked neck, which is often confused with the Transylvanian, and the naked necked game fowl.

Please contact me for any questions or information BEFORE purchase!
