I cannot comment on Ameraucana type, since I am still learning. But wouldn't the blue gene interfere when you add the chocolate gene?
I like genetics. Can you tell us your plan for your Chocolate Wheaten project?
Won't. Lavender should never be crossed with Blue/Splash. It's a completely unrelated gene and recessive.hhmmm how might that work with my Lavender pullets
Ah, so you can make not only Chocolate Wheatens, but Mauve wheaten and Mauve Splash Wheaten as well! Those would be interesting to see how they turn out.Blue and chocolate can work together to make a color called mauve. Ultimately if things go well I will be able to produce Wheaten, Blue Wheaten, Splash Wheaten, Chocolate Wheaten, Mauve(blue+chocolate) Wheaten, and Mauve Splash(splash+chocolate) Wheaten.
The first chicks from this cross will all be solid black at hatch with the males carrying chocolate. All babies will be carrying a copy of the wheaten base as well. I hope to use the nicest typed male from this cross over my wheaten hens. Then I will end up with some chocolate wheaten girls, and some wheaten males that will be split for chocolate. I will also end up with some chocolate girls and some black boys, but they will be sold.

Isabella is the self-blue/Lavender with a partridge pattern instead of extended black. It has nothing to do with chocolate.Ah, so you can make not only Chocolate Wheatens, but Mauve wheaten and Mauve Splash Wheaten as well! Those would be interesting to see how they turn out.
Are there chocolate Ameraucanas you can use for this, or do you have to cross with a chocolate breed to bring it in?
If you put the lavender with the chocolate instead of the blue, I think that makes Isabella. Would you then be wanting solid Isabellas, or Isabella Wheaten?
